Panaeolus Cyanescens “British Virgin Islands”
$27.59 – $34.59
BVI Panaeolus Cyanescens (Gordotek Iso)
The Pan Cyan variant known as “BVI” or “British Virgin Islands” derives its name from the beautiful volcanic islands of the Caribbean from which it was originally found. The subtropical climate of the British Virgin Islands provides a perfect environment for a diverse range of mushrooms.
BVI mushrooms have elegant white stems that can grow either straight or in crooked and curved forms. These slender stems lead to small caps that start with an ovate shape and gradually open up as they mature. The caps exhibit a light yellow hue, and when touched, especially on the caps, the mushroom bruises to a deep blue color. BVI mushrooms are generally poor spore providers like most Pan Cyan strains, therefore spore collection can be a challenge.

Most potent psychedelic mushroom tested to date (2022)
BVI Cyan is more than just a pretty face. In 2022, the Mycologist known as GordoTek placed both 1st and 2nd in the Cultivar Cup with the submission of two distinct BVI genetics. The genetics submitted had a psilocybin content of 4.05% and 3.33% respectively, completely dwarfing the cubensis species. See more about the testing results here.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q: Is the Pan Cyanescens variety easy to use for laboratory applications?
A: Yes, our genetics are incredibly easy to use for microscopy and genetic research purposes. These products are explicitly intended for microscopy and genetic research. Not intended for cultivation.
Q: What laboratory applications can be performed with Pan Cyan Cultures?
A: Our research genetics can be used for a wide variety of different laboratory applications related to mycology research and study. Specifically, these genetics are a great medium for microscopy research and the study of mycelial connections.
Q: Does this contain psilocybin?
A: No. Our products do not contain psilocybin. While some of our genetics may be derived from a psilocybe species, psilocybin does not form until the mycelium matures and reaches the hyphal knot stage. To learn more about the testing done on various stages of mycelial development see this published study: Detecting Psychoactive Drugs in the Developmental Stages of Mushrooms by Susan T. Gross. With that said, this genetic is explicitly sold for research purposes and we will not sell to anyone intending to cultivate this species.
